Vice President – Engineering (Charles River Development)

– Engineering (Charles River Development) nn nnReporting to the Chief Technology Officer, the Vice President of Engineering, will be a key member of the company’s management team, and is responsible for leading engineering for the company, as well as for growing and mentoring a team of talented engineers.

This person must have a proven track record of successful product deliveries, technical achievements, and a reputation for driving change and delivering results.

Specifically, he/she will be responsible for people development, resourcing, methodology, software quality and meeting delivery schedules.

This person must be capable of growing and managing a large-scale (300+) development organization.nn nnThe Vice President of Engineering will drive continued migration to a DevOps development and delivery methodology in direct support of our shift to cloud-native offerings.

They will introduce and refine appropriate processes and structure to ensure accountability and performance.

This person will interact closely with Product Management executives and focus on improving Engineering’s ability to deliver.

They will have a critical eye towards problems and opportunities and get hands on when needed.

A get-it-done approach, minimizing bureaucracy, with a high degree of enthusiasm and initiative is a must-have to be successful.nn nn Responsibilities: nn Build, develop and retain a first-class development team by working closely with the CTO and direct reports on department performance and product execution Drive improvements in the SDLC with a goal of modernizing and creating a true DevOps process and culture Foster a culture of ownership and accountability on execution of deliverables Lead and motivate a strong team of experienced development directors in a team-oriented, collaborative environment including assignment of work items, employee performance, engagement and professional development Contribute to technical and business initiatives across the entire CRIMS product line through influence and knowledge Work with Product Management leadership to plan, design and develop software solutions to meet strategic market needs Drive the Agile process and create a culture of continuous improvement of processes and methodologies within and beyond the direct scope of responsibility Contribute expert guidance on software development process including writing, reviewing and approving specifications, projects, methods and schedules Keep abreast of existing and emerging technologies impactful to CRDs business Provide expert guidance and critical analysis of proposed changes during design reviews and product demos with an sharp eye towards simplicity of design and function Advise staff members on solving complex technical and organizational problems Monitor progress on key initiatives and work packages to ensure fulfillment of product and scheduling objectives Review testing strategy and test plans for team’s product to ensure high product quality Identify improvements in team quality processes including defining new strategies, processes, and required tooling to improve quality Work with the client services organization to provide support & maintenance to current customers Support the sales organization and assist in the execution of POCs for prospective customers Act as the escalation point and primary contact point for troubleshooting customer production problems and drive to quick resolution nn n Education: nn M.S.

or B.S.

degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, and Physics or other technical course of study required nn n Experience: nn A minimum of 15 years leading a large enterprise product development organization (150+) consisting of software engineers, product specialists, performance and automation engineers A minimum of 10 years of experience in financial services developing solutions for Portfolio Management, Trading, Compliance, Post-Trade, IBOR or Wealth Management is strongly desired Demonstrated experience leading teams building high-performance, enterprise scale cloud-native applications with a heavy emphasis on data processing Clear track record of success leading a large-scale technology and process transformation Significant experience with resource planning and budgeting for a large engineering organization Must have significant technical acumen and retain the ability to “walk the walk, and talk the talk” with top engineers Ability to clearly and succinctly summarize results for upper management Demonstrated experience recruiting, hiring, and managing a talented engineering team Proven organizational and project management skills, high attention to detail, and superior time management Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skillsn  Posted 30+ Days Ago nn Full time nn nn R-650162 nn n About Us n nn Across the globe, institutional investors rely on us to help them manage risk, respond to challenges, and drive performance and profitability.
