Job Title: Senior Software Engineer

Position Description: Design, develop, and maintain highly scalable and responsive consumer applications supporting high traffic volumes.

Work and collaborate with cross-functional team of product managers, UX designers, architects, developers, and automation engineers on agile team.

Integrate the front-end elements into the application, consume the REST APIs, write unit tests and all other software development best practices.

Communicate with customers and deliver high performing, resilient, and intuitive suite of applications.

Develop all server-side logic and ensure high performance and responsiveness to requests from the front-end.

Write database queries and procedures to get the data.

Deploy the developed code in a cloud environment using continuous integration systems.

Upgrade the software to newest version.

Analyze and fix the defects raised by quality analysts/engineers.

Document functional requirements and operations (calculations, technical details, data manipulation, and processing).

Identify the scope of tasks and deliver the proposed system in Agile methodology.

Create design documents for defining process, quality analysis, and study of existing systems.

Collect and document the feedback from end users who are using the proposed system.

Identify low performance jobs and rewrite/redesign to improve performance.

Identify the underperforming queries and rewrite.

Create design documents based on the business requirements.

Develop new user interface screens depending on business requirements using ReactJS, JSX, Redux, CSS3, and Bootstrap.

Build responsive web pages using Bootstrap.

Create store procedures and required database scripts using SQL Server 2012.

Design and create new tuned SQL procedures to retrieve, process, and store data for application based on designs and business requirements.

Maintain referential integrity, domain integrity, and column integrity by using the available options such as constraints.

Participate in the SQL code walk through and reviews with the team.

Develop the Java REST API using Java, REST, Maven.

Develop the unit test cases for the developed Java REST API’s using JUnit.

Analyze and implement the code to integrate ReactJS user interface, Java REST API, SQL Server procedure, and scripts workflows of all the modules.

Communicate timelines, progress, and delays of the work assigned on daily basis from the team and vice versa.

Review meetings with the Manager, Product Owner, and Business Users on daily assignments, development, and testing tasks.

Develop unit test cases for the implemented requirements and all modules.

Perform unit testing using developed test cases.

Perform basic integration and smoke testing in dev environment before deploying application to QA environment.

Support QA team with testing until code is deployed to production.

Develop and maintain user documentation.

Perform production support activities as necessary, resolve application issues in production.

Create and maintain user manuals for the application and its modular functions.

On-call roughly two (2) weeks every month.

Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or foreign degree equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Applications, or related field followed by six (6) years of progressive experience in the job offered or related software engineering or internet application development role.

Skills
Experience and/or education must include: NPM (Node Package Manager); Cascading Style Sheets (CSS); Programming Languages – Java; Java Programming Models – Application Programming Interface for Representational State Transfer (REST API); Software Development Tools – Swagger, Postman, Maven, Junit; Splunk; Software Collaboration and Management Tools – GIT, Confluence, JIRA; and SQL programming/SQL Server 2012.
