nn nn Description n nCompany is looking for a Chief Financial Officer to support the formulation and implementation of internal controls, accounting policy and procedures for a growing company which operates primarily in the government sector.

Responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate financial reporting, and presentation of financial information for the company and all related organizations.

Acts as a key advisor in all financial matters including: strategic planning; pricing of bids; identifying business and financial risks; identifying and resolving operational problems.

Provides leadership, guidance and training to accounting, finance and technical staff on financial and administrative matters and will take ownership of accounting system enhancements, developments and changes.

Other duties as reasonably assigned.

Travel for the position will be limited.

n n Roles and Responsibilities: nn Directs the financial affairs of the organization and prepares financial analyses of operations, including interim and final financial statements with supporting schedules, for the guidance of management.

Responsible for the company’s financial plans and policies, its accounting practices, the conduct of its relationships with lending institutions and the financial community, the maintenance of its fiscal records, and the preparation of financial reports.

The position involves supervision over all accounting and back office functions.

Development, analysis, and interpretation of statistical and accounting information in order to appraise operating results in terms of profitability, performance against budget, and other matters bearing on the fiscal soundness and operating effectiveness of the organization.

This individual recommends training requirements, has the duty to keep the staff at the highest level of skill necessary to meet company needs and objectives, and structure the Accounting and Finance Functions accordingly.

Responsible for evaluating the performance of personnel in the Accounting Department.

Strong base of contacts with proven track record of obtaining and servicing new accounts.

Maintains the company’s system of accounts and keeps books and records on all company transactions and assets.

Prepares the budget and financial forecasts, institutes and maintains other planning and control procedures (including the cost accounting system), and analyzes and reports variances.

Responsible for tax planning and compliance with all federal, state, and local corporate, payroll, and other applicable taxes.

Furnishes internal reports, revises and updates reports to be more useful and efficient, and furnishes external reports as necessary.

Evaluates and recommends insurance coverage for protection against property losses and potential liabilities.

The CFO has the final responsibility for providing effective financial controls for the organization.

Prepare and participate in Monthly Financial and Business Unit reviews Supports and manages the Deltek Costpoint Accounting and Deltek Time and Expense systems.

Act as POC with Deltek and external consultants as necessary.

Develop and Oversee Internal Audit plan for Corporate-wide fraud detection.

nn Requirements: nn Minimum 15 years accounting experience in a Senior Accounting or Financial Management Role with at least 2 years ‘ experience as a CFO for a mid-sized company.

Bachelor ‘s Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related discipline Master ‘s Degree/MBA preferred Accounting designation (CMA, CGA or CA), or an equivalent combination of related experience and education Strong Knowledge of CostPoint (version 7) Strong Management and Leadership Skills Strong Interpersonal and Communication Skills Impeccable Analytical and Organizational Skills Experience with M&A and associated Due Diligence activities Ability to think proactively and outside of the box Self-motivated and Self-directed Ability to work closely with an Executive Management Team n n More Jobsn Like This n Job No.
